|Plot||A Palestinian family in Israel. An existence of political interest. Members from three generations of the Jabarine-family talk about their lives in a country, which they call their homeland, but where they cannot feel at home. A status they define as 'absent-present'. For all Jabarines, politics and the struggle for a Palestinian identity constitutes their setting of daily life, in public and in private. Demonstrations serve as family-reunions. Political conferences become weekly leisure activities. Regular detentions and court trials: normal every-day-routine. Through its very personal approach the film contributes to an apparently never-ending discourse which affects the whole world. It focuses on those people, who live with this conflict for generations and often disappear behind the cliches of daily news coverage.... search for Absent Present: One Country, One Family, One Conflict on IMDb|
