Plot The National Association of State Aviation Officials produced this overview of planes and helicopters' uses in agriculture, starting with work in Mississippi Delta cotton fields in the 1920s. Agricultural research and USDA testing offer protections to animals and humans while 50 million acres are sprayed by air each year. Killing insects, distributing fertilizer and seeds, and plant-regulator spraying (e.g. defoliating cotton to aid the harvest and strengthening apple stems to avoid windfall) are three uses of agricultural aviation. The film also discusses DDT and the need for toxicologists to remain alert. We see fields, bugs, researchers, farmers, copters, and planes at work.... search for Agricultural Aviation on IMDb
