|Plot||In 'Being Held Out Into the Nothing' sixteen year old Piya Parashar represents the startlingly common predicament of teenagers addiction to technology. The film follows Piya throughout one summer day, uncovering her isolated life, which is a direct consequence of her constant connection with faceless friends. Piya's personal expressions manifest through technology where she lies and misrepresents her actions for easy approval and reactions. She develops narcissistic tendencies and a sense of alienation. Only through the fabrications of the events in her life does she feel appreciated and connected to her world. In the end, emptiness sets in; an emptiness which cannot hold her lies anymore.
