|Plot||'Breaking: Los Angeles' uses a non-linear narrative style to provide a comprehensive overview of the deteriorating Los Angeles recording industry. The film offers candid accounts from heralded industry executives and the musicians who are compelled to squander the bulk of their time and creativity on do-it-yourself marketing and development, social media, and hawking their 'merch' instead of writing and performing. Through a 36-month filming process and extensive interviews with nearly a hundred bands and over 40 music industry professionals, the film explores the central issues confronting those trying to rise up through the ranks in the heart of the rock music industry that is threatened by the decentralization of resource hubs due to the explosion in Internet and digital media technologies combined with corporate interests fueled by a bottom-line mentality that attempts to put art on a time line.... search for Breaking: Los Angeles on IMDb|
